With any job hunt it can be a demanding time on your mind and your mood. I currently am doing a large transition in my career and I just wanted to post a quick personal note on my experiences. It has been said that looking for work can be like a full time job but there is so much more to it than that. You can’t escape from it like you can with a job. It is in your head all the time and you feel like you should be looking 24/7. You cannot do this, you have to take time to let things happen and to recharge your mind. You have the ups and downs with any search but you just have to work out a plan and stick with it. Sometimes it just takes time and a drive to make it happen. Television tends to go in cycles and like other industries there are hot times of the year when they hire. I have always found that the summer and January to be really good times to be looking. The summer is when stations are prepping for the new season and a fall launch so anything new added to the mix will be happening now. January ia also good because it is the new year and a lot can change with the changing of a year mostly fiscally.

I am riding the emotional rollar coaster right now trying to take that next step in my career. It is a lot of hard work and it is also hard not to take everything very personal.

Keep trying even when you dont think anything is working, it can change in a blink of an eye.
